Remind me why I love what I do. Of course, the main event – crowning the winners of the awards across a breadth of leisure, entertainment and restaurant categories – is what we're all there for. But standing under the bright lights of the W Abu Dhabi - Yas Island's twinkling façade, surrounded by a 500-strong audience of the capital's leading hospitality lights, is what makes the night so special to me. The excitement, the energy, the anticipation… guests reminiscing on the year gone by, animatedly sharing plans for the forthcoming months. This year, more than ever before, I felt such a positive feeling about the capital's triumphs from the last twelve months, and the glittering future it's confidently moving towards. There's also something particularly touching about seeing the way brands show up for one another. There's a real industry-wide respect and understanding that the way we grow is by lifting each other up. And to even play a small part in that, is a part of my job that gives me immeasurable joy.
We dined, we applauded, we celebrated – and we crowned winners across some 42 categories to recognize the crème de la crème of Abu Dhabi's shining stars. And you can relive it all with us from p15.
